St Paul’s Statue at the Cathedral
St Paul on his plinth, in the cathedral churchyard in spring. I’ve always liked this statue, hidden away at the back of the building that’s his namesake. And like all public gardens, it’s a pleasure to wander through this churchyard and see people enjoying the plants and peace.
I battled with this, especially the composition, 2 years ago and abandoned it in frustration. Delighted to find on rediscovering it that this time I could make it work. One of hundreds of unfinished sketches I had given up on! There’s a moral here somewhere.
