St Paul’s Church, Deptford, London

£20.00 - £80.00

1730, high Baroque, overlooked gem just off Deptford High Street. Architect Thomas Archer also designed Birmingham Cathedral (another overlooked gem), and was a founding governor of the Foundling Museum. Encircled by terrace linked by three grand flights of steps, you can circumnavigate the outside without once touching ground. Reminiscent of playing in rock pools. Tombstones scattered around terrace invite you to sit down and chat, or indulge in hopscotch. A convivial, humane little masterpiece and a pleasure to draw.

Signed, museum-quality original digital print.
