I've been trying to work out a way of drawing what I feel about the Brexit referendum.
I was provoked to create these particular images by the way those who voted to leave the EU were widely castigated as racist, misinformed and parochial after the result. It made me realise that we need some new form of allegory for the 21st century, a way of illustrating values and ideas that can inspire us to change the world.
This was the first picture I drew, on the iPad. I wanted to update the classic image of Britannia and present the Brexit vote as a positive event - Britannia giving the EU dragon a good poke in the eye.
It also gave me an excuse to draw the human body (my favourite subject besides plants) and practise lion profiles.
